FARLEY QUARRY - SUNDAY June 29th 2008 - see you there !

FARLEY QUARRY

been to Farley Quarry a few times but last time I escaped rather lightly after trying to see if my Jeep Cherokee could double up as a submarine. Unfortunately it didn't and I ended up being recovered home. Lickily it's worst was a starter motor and a complete oil and filter change to get rid of the water. Many thanks to the very helpful chaps in the Suzuki's, blue Range rover for the tow across to safer land, and to the chap in the blue Izusu who kindly stripped down my starter motor and gave me loads of help. This demonstrated what goes around comes around and if you help others then they in turn may help you !

There was a photographer that caught all so if anyone has any pics, send them to Richard.

FARLEY QUARRY

Just a quick note to say thanks for a fantastic day out at Farley Quarry, what a site all sorts of terrain for all levels of experience.

I'm quite new to off roading and Farley was only my second trip but the site was superb as were all the people, they were a friendly bunch ! I'm sure I will be attending more days in the future as £30 for the day is excellent value.

WILDMOOR

Just wanted to thank you and provide comments that may help other novices to take the plunge.

My wife and I were both excited and apprehensive about our first real off road experience. We arrived at Wildmoor to be welcomed with friendly advice and before long we had arrived at the edge of a precipice (not quite!) were my wife questioned "we are not going down there, are we?!" To her amazement we did go down and from then on we gained confidence in both ourselves and our Frontera 2.3TD.

It was good to see a variety of vehicles and abilities, with the site having a good range of obstacles. I had feared that I would spend the day in or behind a procession of Land Rovers, this was not the case. The day was truly a FUNDAY, with fellow drivers and passengers courteous, friendly and ready to help one another.

Thanks for a really great day out.

G.W.

Many thanks Graham for your support.

AWESOME SITE

Your were right, FARLEY QUARRY is an awesome site. Every inch of the way, there is another challenge, be it a climb, axle twister, mud/water section, and even on the hottest day of the year, which only added to the experience.

Looking forward to the next event at Farley Quarry on SUNDAY June 29th 2008.

Phil

Thank you again !

Hi Richard,

I wanted to say thank you again. I was impressed with Aston Cantlow the first time I visited, however, this time was even better. The site, whilst dryer in the main, was still very entertaining with lots of challenges and some pretty difficult sections in addition to the more 'friendly' stuff, as we found out with some ruts that got deeper before our very eyes. Well that's my excuse for getting stuck. Thanks to the guy in the RR which eventually got me mobile again, despite the fact that at one point we both thought the other RR was about to join us in our 'special' car park.

Each time I go on one of your 4X4 Fundays, I find out more about the vehicle's capabilities and my limitations. No matter how many times I go to a site that I have been to before, there is always something new to try, or get stuck in. I can't wait for Mow Cop later this month for this very reason. Again I have met some very friendly, interesting people who are only too ready to assist if one gets stuck and readily share there experiences and views with each other. It all makes for a most interesting, entertaining day. I am so glad that I discovered you and am amazed that the whole of the UK does not pop down to any/all or your events, they really are missing out on so much fun. I am now certain it is the most fun I've had with my clothes on. Mind you, if I were to take them off at any point, it would certainly make for more entertainment for the other people on site. Perhaps I should consider it - NOTTTTTTT. Further, when you consider the price of £30 for the vehicle and party, I defy anyone to get better value for a day out.

Anyway, thanks again and looking forward to seeing you at Mow Cop, this time with a couple of discos. You never know, they too will be converted after their first time out.

See you then. P.R.

Farley Quarry

Hi Richard

I'm looking forward to visiting your Farley Quarry event in April.

I've only been there once before about 18 months ago but it's an excellent site. Really glad you've been able to get use of it and give everyone better access to a smashing site.

Regards

J.W.

New Sites for 4x4 Funday @ £30 or £40 pay on the day ?

Hi Richard

I do think that alot of people would be prepared to spend the extra for a good days off roading. The sites you use must be difficult to obtain, and with green lanes closing all over the place I think most drivers are only too glad that sites are available.

Without these sites off roaders may as well give up.

Regards

We have managed to negotiate EXCLUSIVE USE of the fantastic FARLEY QUARRY site nr Ironbridge, Shropshire, for our events. Admission is £35 per vehicle, toilets and catering on site. Next event here SUNDAY June 29th 2008 signposted off the M54 junction 6, and the A4169.

Thanks for providing good fun sites

Hi

Just thought we would say a big thanks for the fun on several of your sites we have had over the last seven years. Even though we regularly off-road in Morocco with our own company Venturetrails we still enjoy a good mud session.

Many Thanks.

Ken and Jane.

Thanks for your support. Ed.

GREAT SITE

Just found you on the net.

Lots of useful ads and well laid out.

Hope to get off-roading with you soon.
